St. Tabitha Education Center Building Project
St. Tabitha Orthodox Christian Orphanage and School has come a long way in a short time thanks be to God and to the generosity of donors like you. The children went from living and studying in the Kibera slum outside of Nairobi to Malava, a small town about 73 km north of Kisumu in the western part of Kenya. It was here that Fr. Agapios rented buildings in town in which to educate and house the children. Today, St. Tabitha owns it’s own land with a main house and four classrooms with more under construction.
The drawing below provides a view of the extent of the education building project. When finished, St. Tabitha will have ten classrooms, dormitories for boys and girls, a kitchen and dining area, and administrative offices.

UPDATE: By the Grace of God and the generosity of our donors we were able to complete the four classrooms in time for the start of the 2020 school year.
We still have much more work left to do. The Ministry of Education in Kenya has given us the following list of improvements required to continue legally operating the school:
4 additional acres |
Dormitories |
7 additional classrooms |
Kitchen and dinning |
Fencing |
Administrative Office |
